Harvey is a 16 year old boy who is working as a newspaper delivery boy for the newspaper company. He gets paid every Thursday. This is his first job and he gets paid by check. Mr. Smith is his boss. Thursday Harvey gets his first paycheck and gets very sad. He was supposed to make 100 dollars but the check is only 70 dollars. Mr. Smith sees that Harvey gets sad and explains to him what deductions are. He starts with federal taxes which is about 8 dollars from Harvey's paycheck. The government collects taxes from all citizens to built bridges and highways and fund the army. He then explains what the social security deduction is for and also, medicare, state and city taxes. At the end Harvey is glad that the government is thinking to save money for him so he gets it when he retires. Sparky is Harvey's dog. He is sad when Harvey is sad and then gets happy at the end when Harvey understands how taxes work.

Facing discrimination and hazardous conditions, they were key to the railroad’s completion. Over 1,200 Chinese workers died, highlighting their sacrifice. Despite advancing U.S. infrastructure, they encountered ongoing hostility and laws against them. Their resilience underscores their overlooked role in shaping 19th-century America.

He turned and saw a small, fluffy cat sitting on a rock. "Hello, Cat! What are you doing?" asked Benji. "I am stretching my back," said the cat. She arched her back up and then down. (Children do Cat Pose – on hands and knees, round and arch the back.) Benji and the cat continued walking together when they heard a hissing sound. "What is that?" asked the cat. A long, shiny snake slithered out from behind a bush. "Hello, friends," said the snake. He stretched his body long and lifted his head. (Children do Snake Pose – lie on the stomach, hands under shoulders, and lift the chest.) Benji and the cat were happy to meet the snake. "Do you want to come on our adventure?" they asked. "Yes! But first, let’s rest on this big rock," said the snake. The three friends sat quietly on the rock, feeling the warm sun on their backs. (Children do Rock Pose – kneeling, fold forward, forehead on the ground, arms by sides.) After resting, they all stood up, stretched, and continued their adventure together, ready for more fun! 1. John Jr and Vasi were bored and started to brainstorm ideas that they could do. John Jr's mom heard and told them about a new kids museum in town. John Jr was excited, so they packed up some stuff and headed to the museum. 2. They arrived at The Museum of Children's Creations. The admission was free for kids. Once inside they were amazed. Everything in the museum had been made by a child. 3. The first thing they saw was a trampoline. John Jr and Vasi jumped around on it and Vasi did some cool flips. Then they saw some toy trucks that a 6 year old had invented. John Jr was really impressed by that. They saw braille used by blind people, Popsicles and magnetic locker paper all had been created by teenagers. 3. John Jr saw ear muffs and crayon holders were also invented by kids. John Jr was really surprised at the inventions of children. 4. John Jr and Vasi saw that Ben Franklin started inventing stuff as a young boy with his invention of swim flippers. They thought it was really neat that Christmas lights were also a kids idea. But the thing that amazed John Jr and Vasi was the invention of the snowmobile. 5. John Jr and Vasi bought a souvenir and headed home. They were trying to think of something they could invent. They possed an unmatched sense of wonder and possibility.
