The Forbidden Love
The Legend of An Island Called Marinduque
In a small village by the sea, there lived a girl named Marin. Her father, Datu Batumbakal, was the village chief. Marin was forbidden to fall in love with Duque, a lowly village farmer. But Marin and Duque's hearts were deeply connected. They decided to run away together.

One night, Marin and Duque sneaked out of the village. They found a small boat and set sail into the open sea. The moonlight guided their way as they held each other close. They whispered dreams of a life together. Their hearts were full of hope and love.

Suddenly, dark clouds gathered, and a strong wave came crashing down. The boat capsized, throwing Marin and Duque into the water. They struggled to stay afloat in the stormy sea. Marin and Duque held hands tightly. They professed their undying love for each other as the waves pulled them under.

When the storm cleared, the villagers searched for Marin and Duque. Instead of finding them, they discovered a new island. The island was shaped like a heart, a symbol of Marin and Duque's love. The villagers named the island Marinduque. It became a place where love was celebrated forever.
