A Bright Sunny Morning
Roses Takes A Tumble
It was a bright sunny morning in the town of Willow Creek. Jennifer woke up with a big smile on her face. She had been waiting all week to ride her new bike. Papa Ken and Mama Bree had bought it for her birthday. Jennifer could hardly wait to show her friends. But first, she needed to ask her parents for permission. She ran downstairs, excitement bubbling inside her.
1
Jennifer found Papa Ken reading the newspaper. Mama Bree was busy making breakfast. 'Papa, can I ride my new bike today?' Jennifer asked eagerly. Papa Ken looked up from his newspaper. 'Not yet, Jennifer,' he said gently. 'We need to put the training wheels on first.' Jennifer felt a pang of disappointment. She nodded and went to help Mama Bree with breakfast.
2
Just then, Mama Ester came to visit. She brought a basket of fresh roses from her garden. 'Good morning, everyone!' she greeted cheerfully. Jennifer loved her grandma's visits. Mama Ester always had the best stories and the sweetest treats. Jennifer listened as Mama Ester and Mama Bree chatted. But her mind kept drifting back to her new bike.
3
After breakfast, Jennifer went to her room. She looked out the window and saw her shiny new bike. An idea formed in her mind. 'Maybe I can ride it just for a little while,' she thought. She knew her parents had said no. But the temptation was too strong. She decided to sneak out and give it a try.
4
Jennifer tiptoed down the stairs. She peeked around the corner to make sure no one was watching. Mama Bree and Mama Ester were still chatting in the kitchen. Papa Ken was in the garage. Jennifer quietly opened the front door. She slipped outside and ran to her bike. Her heart was pounding with excitement and a little bit of fear.
5
Jennifer climbed onto her bike. She gripped the handlebars tightly. 'Here goes nothing,' she whispered to herself. She pushed off with her foot and started to pedal. At first, everything seemed fine. But then the bike wobbled. Jennifer tried to steady herself, but it was too late. She lost her balance and tumbled to the ground.
6
Jennifer felt a sharp pain in her knee. She looked down and saw that it was scraped and bleeding. Tears welled up in her eyes. She felt both hurt and scared. 'I should have listened to Papa Ken,' she thought. Jennifer sat on the ground, holding her knee. She didn't know what to do next.
7
Just then, Papa Ken came running out of the garage. He had heard the noise and came to see what had happened. 'Jennifer, are you alright?' he asked, kneeling beside her. Jennifer nodded, tears streaming down her face. 'I tried to ride my bike without the training wheels,' she admitted. Papa Ken gently picked her up and carried her inside. 'Let's get you cleaned up,' he said kindly.
8
Mama Bree and Mama Ester rushed over when they saw Jennifer's scraped knee. They cleaned the wound and put a bandage on it. 'You need to be patient, Jennifer,' Mama Bree said softly. 'We told you to wait for the training wheels.' Jennifer nodded, feeling a bit ashamed. 'I understand now,' she said. 'I'm sorry for not listening.'
9
Mama Ester gave Jennifer a big hug. 'We all make mistakes,' she said gently. 'The important thing is to learn from them.' Jennifer felt a little better. She promised herself she would be more patient next time. Papa Ken smiled and ruffled her hair. 'We'll put the training wheels on this afternoon,' he said. Jennifer's heart lifted at the thought of riding her bike safely.
10
After lunch, Papa Ken and Jennifer went to the garage. They worked together to attach the training wheels to her bike. Jennifer watched closely, wanting to learn how it was done. 'There, all set!' Papa Ken said, tightening the last bolt. Jennifer felt a surge of excitement. She couldn't wait to try riding her bike again. This time, she knew it would be safe.
11
Jennifer climbed onto her bike once more. Papa Ken held the handlebars to steady her. 'Ready?' he asked with a smile. Jennifer nodded eagerly. She started to pedal, and the bike moved smoothly. The training wheels kept her balanced. Jennifer felt a thrill of joy as she rode around the yard. She waved at Mama Bree and Mama Ester, who were watching proudly.
12
With each pedal, Jennifer's confidence grew. She rode her bike up and down the driveway. Papa Ken jogged alongside her, giving her tips. 'You're doing great, Jennifer!' he cheered. Jennifer beamed with happiness. She felt proud of herself for learning to ride safely. She couldn't wait to show her friends her new skills.
13
The next day, Jennifer invited her friends over. She showed them her bike with the training wheels. 'Let's ride together!' she suggested. Her friends cheered and grabbed their bikes. They spent the afternoon riding around the neighborhood. Jennifer felt a sense of accomplishment. She had learned an important lesson about patience and safety.
14
A few weeks later, Papa Ken had a surprise for Jennifer. 'You've been doing so well with your training wheels,' he said. 'I think it's time to take them off.' Jennifer felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. 'Do you think I'm ready?' she asked. 'I know you are,' Papa Ken replied. Together, they removed the training wheels. Jennifer was ready for the next big step.

Jennifer climbed onto her bike without the training wheels. Papa Ken held the seat to steady her. 'You can do it,' he encouraged. Jennifer took a deep breath and started to pedal. At first, she wobbled a bit. But soon, she was riding smoothly on her own. Jennifer felt a rush of pride and joy. She had learned to ride her bike all by herself!
