Mia's grandmother asked her about her favorite subject in school. Mia giggled and said it was recess. Grandma laughed and asked if all the children played together. Mia thought for a moment and remembered Bruno, a boy who sat alone during recess. She wondered why he didn’t join the games.

The next day, Mia decided to talk to Bruno. She found him sitting alone and asked why he didn't play with the other kids. Bruno explained that he had food allergies and felt left out. Mia listened carefully and felt sad for Bruno. She promised to help him.

Mia talked to her teacher about Bruno's food allergies. The teacher decided to educate the class about food allergies. The students learned how to keep their snacks safe for everyone. They also learned how to include Bruno in their games. Bruno felt happy and included.

Mia was proud of what she had done. Her grandmother explained to Mia's brother Luka that empathy means understanding and caring for others. From then on, the children helped each other and grew more connected. They cared about each other's feelings and needs. Mia knew she had made a difference.
