The Pizza Craving
Maplewood PIzza Anxiety
Timmy loved pizza. Every Friday night, he would beg his parents to order a delicious pizza from Cantello's pizzeria. His favorite was a large pepperoni pizza with extra cheese. Timmy's mouth watered just thinking about it.

One Friday, Timmy decided to be brave and make the call to Cantello's himself. He picked up the phone, his hands trembling a little. 'Hello, Cantello's Pizza, how can I help you?' said a friendly voice. But before Timmy could say anything, the pizza guy started laughing at him. Timmy felt his face turn red with embarrassment.

The pizza guy made fun of Timmy's shaky voice and told him to hurry up. Timmy felt his heart sink. He quickly hung up the phone, feeling sadder than ever. The pizza he once craved now seemed like a distant dream. Timmy's social anxiety had made him feel small and scared.

After that day, Timmy was too afraid to ever make a phone call again. His social anxiety had grown even stronger. He missed his favorite pizza, but the thought of calling to order it made him feel sick to his stomach. Timmy felt trapped and alone.

Timmy's friend Emily noticed how down he had been lately. She asked him what was wrong, and Timmy told her about the hurtful experience with the pizza guy. Emily listened carefully and gave Timmy a big hug. 'I'll help you order pizza from now on,' she said with a smile. Timmy's heart felt a little lighter.

The next Friday, Emily came over to Timmy's house. She dialed Cantello's Pizza and ordered Timmy's favorite pepperoni pizza with extra cheese. Timmy watched in amazement as Emily spoke confidently on the phone. He felt grateful to have such a caring friend by his side.

When the doorbell rang, Timmy and Emily rushed to the door. The delicious smell of pizza filled the air. Timmy's eyes lit up with joy as he saw the steaming hot pizza box. 'Thank you, Emily,' he said, feeling grateful for her friendship. The two friends enjoyed their pizza together, and Timmy's fear of phone calls started to fade.

With Emily's help, Timmy learned that he didn't have to face his fears alone. He also realized that it's okay to ask for help when something feels too scary. Timmy's love for pizza and the support of a true friend helped him overcome his anxiety. From that day on, Timmy felt a little braver and a lot happier.
