Emily's Big Question
Does God Love Me?
Emily sat in the classroom,
Gazing as the flowers bloomed.
"Does God love me?" she sighed with care,
As birds flew freely through the air.
1
The wind rushes by, so wild and free,
Juliana's thoughts drift out to sea.
"Does He love me when I fall?
Or when I'm scared, does He hear my call?”
2
Tony turned to his sisters, eyes full of light,
"We’ll find out tonight, if God loves us right.
His sisters looked at him, curious and bright,
"How will we know, Tony? What’s the sign tonight?"
Tony smiled gently, his voice full of cheer,
"Just wait and you’ll see, God’s love is near."
3
They opened the Bible, with pages so wide,
Curious to learn what Jesus would guide.
They read of the sheep, who wandered away,
How Jesus sought it, and did not delay.
Tony said, "Look, this story’s for me,
Jesus loves us, as much as can be.
Even when we’re lost, or feeling alone,
He'll always find us, and bring us back home."
4
Emily looked up to Tony, eyes full of doubt,
"Even when I shout, does His love come out?
I don’t always listen, I make mistakes,
Can Jesus still love me, no matter what it takes?"
Tony smiled and said with love so bright,
"Jesus loves you, even when you’re not right.
He knows you’re learning, He understands,
And He’s there with love, reaching out His hands."
5
A son asked his father for his share,
And left for a life that wasn’t fair.
In hunger and shame, he turned around,
His father’s love was all he found.
"Though you were lost, you are now found,
My love for you will always abound.
You’ve made mistakes, but that’s okay,
Come, we shall celebrate today!"
No matter the wrongs, no matter the sin,
The father’s arms would take him in.
6
Juliana sat and wondered why,
She didn’t feel special, no matter how hard she’d try.
"Am I enough?" she asked so scared.
"Does anyone notice, does anyone care?"
They read of a banquet, so grand and bright,
Where guests were invited to feast in delight.
But when the time had come to dine,
They made excuses, all declined.
So the man sent servants far and wide,
To invite the poor, with nothing to hide.
The banquet is ready, the doors are wide,
No matter who you are, come inside.
God’s love is a gift, so great, so true,
A feast for all, for me and you.
7
God loves us all, through thick and thin,
Even when we fall or sin.
When we stumble or go astray,
We can pray and ask Him to show us the way.
Open your Bible, His word so true,
It’s full of love for me and you.
Read and listen, let it guide,
In His love, we can always abide.
God’s love is strong, it’ll never end,
Come back to Him always, our faithful friend.
